Busy Summer!

We have actually had a pretty busy summer this year. We were able to tag along on one of Kevin's business trips to Ohio with a pit stop to visit my family first. The girls did a dance camp and have since signed up for dance classes this year. We started school in July, but with everything going on it's been a bit hit or miss. Morgan had her tonsils out after a couple of years of having some eating and breathing issues. We noticed on our trip to Ohio that she was still snoring quite a bit and then was taking tiny bites of food and chewing them until there was nothing left. The night we were in the hospital she was shoveling food! Our first sign that it was a good decision. We did have to stay an extra day in the hospital because the anesthesia made her sick, but it helped her rest which she needed.

The latest trip was to Columbia SC to watch the Forrest Wood Cup - the Super Bowl of bass fishing. No one wanted to come home, which means it must have been a good trip :) I was nervous heading into it because tent camping in SC in August could go wrong in so many ways, but it couldn't have been much better. It wasn't too terribly hot, and we had our own little beach on the lake to go swimming and the kids had a blast. No rain, no storms. Whew!

The highlight of the trip was Joah getting to meet one of his favorite guys, Scott Martin (he has a show, The Scott Martin Challenge, hence the sign). He saw the sign and called us over to his truck to give us tshirts - whoo hoo!

Our crazy sleeping kiddos... even on a rocky tent floor, they were OUT!

Beautiful scenery from the campsite during lunch the last day.

Joah's photobomb.
For the record... those front two teeth are now gone. *Sniff* - our little boy is indeed growing up.

Another attempt at a pic :P The hammock was pure bliss...

Our big boy on his new-to-us big boy bike!

A stop at a concrete/cement place on the way home - while I was picking out a bird bath (belated birthday gift) the kids and Kevin were checking out all of the life size animal sculptures.

Lillian did give herself a black eye on the trip. That paired with a few bike crashes, tumbles at the campsite, and me stepping on a Rat-L-Trap we were thankful to make it home with no urgent care or ER trips.

Morning of Morgan's surgery - waiting to be called back.

Still pretty sleepy...

Happy to be going home!
