Kevin's been super busy at work for the past few months so he decided to take today off. The weather was nice so we took a trip to the zoo (one of the benefits for his job is a zoo pass for up to 8 people). It was great b/c school just started back a couple weeks ago so there weren't many people there! I think Joah had a blast. He's napping now so it will be interesting to see what he talks about when he gets up. My goal is to make him a book of all the animals he saw with some information about them, but some of the pictures didn't turn out the best so we'll see what I can come up with. Here's a few pics of the family and Joah's favorite things:
The fish and turtles under the bridge when you first come up to the gates... Kevin reeeaaaallly wants to fish in there - there are some big ones!

The tram/bus was one of Joah's favorite parts.

Heading to "North America" (it's split into 2 parts, N.A. and Africa)

Painting with water in the Kids Zone (evidently he wasn't a fan of those drawings)

Morgan hanging out and snacking on the carrier straps...

Sleeping polar bear...

Joah telling us about the sleeping polar bear.

A bison (or "big cow" if you ask Joah)

Sitting in the African helicopter - another favorite (as you can tell by the big smile on his face).

Watching the giraffe eat. They have a new feeding/viewing platform and there was a worker there with branches so they we were able to get pretty close to them.

The big one on the right is 32 years old and we were told that the average age is only 28.

I think the beehive exhibit was close to the top of my list - it was actually really educational.

What seemed to be Joah's favorite part were the Puffins and fish, but none of my pictures really turned out since it was indoors and pretty dark.
After many different plants, animals, and reptiles (among other things) it's time for lunch before heading home!
